Meskies in the Olympics

Post by msza2 »

Just heard a minute or two of Mondo Bongo during a figure skating duet, LOL. It was very slightly slowed down to fit in with a mashup of a few tracks. Interestingly, the team was Japanese.

Red, the american snowboarder who just won gold, lives down the street from me. We're all very excited here.

I enjoyed the skaters who used sympathy for the devil. A nice touch.

I heard it, too. Couldn’t believe I was hearing Joe’s voice. Was during Kana Muramoto and Chris Reed’s ice dance program. They’re both American, but representing Japan.

That was a great competition. I thought the last guy was going to steal it from him.

Yup took me back to nearly falling out of my seat in the theater when I heard the same song in Mr & Mrs Smith.

They probably heard the song in that movie rather than on Global.

EDIT: Oops...Kana is from Japan. Chris was born in the USA (Kalamazoo as johnny2bad mentioned).

Haven’t found the Olympics clip online (yet), but here’s Kana and Chris’ performance last year. Same program (I think) w/ the same music including the “Mondo Bongo” part:

Men's halfpipe was ridiculously dramatic last night. The games have been really good watching this year.

I don’t really like that snowboarding stuff (can’t believe they’ve let skateboarding into the summer games but that’s just my prejudice. Really do like these Games though. Speed skating is fantastic to watch.

That Mondo Bongo clip is the weirdest thing ever.
I have enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics I always do. I have snowboarded a few times but never skied and not a winter sports person.
That snowboard cross when when 6 of them race down the hill is just brilliant. Brilliant to watch and must be great fun to do.

I watched the 15km Biathlon? Where they X country ski then shoot targets. It was enthralling. I can only images how tough that must be not only skiing uphill but also having to target shoot at the same time!!!
After all that it came down to a photo finish. Brilliant.

Watched some skeleton racing, mad. I even enjoyed the curling.
