Cool shots! You wouldn't think from these that Joe would be the one with the most hair 20 years later.

Not at their slickest style wise, are they? Don’t mind the quiff, but the baggy suit on Joe is a no no. Interesting pics all the same, thanks for sharing.

Yeah that’s true. And the way he’s parading it like it’s some kind of hot shit fashion accessory. Takes some of the heat off that truly horrific shirt I suppose.101Walterton wrote: ↑14 Dec 2017, 8:53pmAnything is better than the guy with a handbag on his belt!!Low Down Low wrote: ↑14 Dec 2017, 8:18pmNot at their slickest style wise, are they? Bollocks, mate! Very cool; the band predicted the rockabilly revival of late '81-'82 (just as they had precognition of the ska revival a year or two earlier).Low Down Low wrote: ↑14 Dec 2017, 8:18pmNot at their slickest style wise, are they? Young Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, etc.? Very sharp look. Had my own pleated, baggy trousers rockabilly suit around then (as well as my Two-Tone suit with skinny trousers, pork pie hat and tie!).
Strong shoes is what we got and when they're hot they're hot!

I’d have no problem with the look itself, always liked rockabilly, just don’t think it suits Joe that much, that’s all really.
But they are interesting pics for sure, haven’t seen all that many with that sort of clobber.

An observation from across the pond: I don't suppose its an accident Mick is sitting as far away as possible from Joe? I have read almost every Clash book to come down the pike, and surely that relationship was always contentious. I seem to remember a black and white clip from Rehearsals where Joe tells Mick to "shut the hell up", and Mick wasn't having any of it. That was 1976! Anyway, Happy Holidays to all, and thanks to those who keep this board and the memory alive. Waiting For My Rope Box Set, RJM
