I love The Call Up it's a great track. Just needs a different mix.
Out of curiosity marky, what would you like to see different about it? Personally I cant think of any other way I'd want to hear it, but maybe that's just because I'm so used to it the way it is.
That is an easy answer. Just listen to the remix The Cool Out and that shows you just how powerful the track could have sounded . The single sounds flat.
Not having the dead vocals and lazy same melody throughout vocals helps Cool Out as well.
I don't have a problem with the vocals. The song needed a brighter mix a bit more sharpness. It just sounds flat to me. The melody is fine all the ingredients are there and The Cool Out brings that out in the mix way better than the single.

Hello,

Cool Out > Call Up.
Yep pretty much. The Sound System mix brings out more than before. I've just looked at the '99 remaster and it's horribly brickwalled. All the original CD's are better than those '99 remasters.

Hmmm, interesting. I've been listening to it the same way for 37 years, this is a fresh, effervescent mix, I'd like to mix some whiskey with it and have a cocktail. Very nice

I decided having just a stray track is a bit daft. So here's a full EP.

Listening to this now. Terrific stuff. Someone really needs to sort you out an official job with the band. TeddyB, have a word, please!

Cheers Laxman and 101. It's a really good track and has always been one of my faves. It just needed that brighter mix. A lot of S! is the same. The reggae and dub tracks are all fine but the rest needed a lift. I'm glad the SS box rectified this somewhat.

I know a lot of people don't like Stop the World, but I always thought the two tracks went together quite nicely.
