I think GEER is great, but I noticed upon listening again that the production is sort of uneven.
Now that Gene has become an SRP, it's up to me to keep flying the GEER flag I guess. :shifty:
Stick your GEER flag up yer pole. Seriously though if you listen to the production on tracks like The Prisoner/Pressure Drop/(White Man) in Hammersmith Palais etc you can't tell me that GEER would not have sounded better.
I'm not a fan of the production on White Man, I think it's a bit tinny.
You’ve smoked too many tinnys tonight.
I always think of Gene with more irony.

When i listen to the Clash its usually sandinista(thank god for the ss-remaster), sbmc (now pretty much replaced by Soundsystem Extras #2) or selected live stuff like Chaos in NY. I Always come back to those and its still an exciting listen.

The Sound System remaster made me apreciate geer a lot more, because i only had a terrible old CD Version.apart from the obvious crackers its still the most un-interesting Clash Album for me

Yes! Now for a few evening courses at your local University for some Strummer dialect lessons.

Agreed. It sounds very weak compared to GEER.

This boxset better be the shit or I am denouncing all of you at the next party congress.
Don’t get your hopes up for the live cuts. They are basically unmixed and have all sorts of level issues. Even the ones that were released on Clash on Broadway and FHTE are far worse in this package.

That was hard to fathom considering the care that went into everything else.

If I remember correctly, Teddy said the inclusion of live tracks was an after thought.

I mean, the Clash just generally have treated live material as an afterthought, no? I think our interest in live material is a peculiar fixation compared to the fans en masse.

No seriously Gene it is worth owning and all of the remasters are step up from those terrible '99 brickwalled editions.

Doesn't Marky upload in lossy formats? That's why I've never checked any of his stuff out.
