Hello Marky,
I downloaded a few days ago but finally got to listen. Great stuff! Love it!

Yes, but I'm much less important
(And then listening to it again seems better .....)
Music is the only thing that matters

No, just no.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

You just have to weigh up Joe's massively improved vocals against the presence of Terry.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I've just listened to the Brixton show on headphones. The band are in decent form but the vocals and Mick's lead are a bit lost for most of the main set, wondering if Bernie was on the sound desk. Still an enjoyable listen, cheers Marky and Chris.
The Newcastle City Hall show from earlier that month has a really decent sound and a similar set, I'm putting a cheeky request out for that show to be remastered somewhere down the line.

So much trauma from Shea Stadium. And yeah, that wasn't the best show from the tour, but it was also not that different from any other show. Particularly the drumming. God, English Civil War is so awful on that show. And Tommy Gun. And Clampdown.

Re: Marky Dread Remasters
Well considering Terry only played on the first album and only stepped in again after Topper's sacking I think he does OK. Comparing those songs that Topper played on in the studio and came up with that opening machine gun start to Tommy Gun of course no drummers going to match his chops on those tracks. Topper was no ordinary drummer he was immense and a fucking hard act to follow if not probably impossible. Listening back across all these boots I've remasters I've realised just how much the band relied on Topper to keep the shows lively.
