This one has demanded repeated playing the last few days. The CTC songs are perfectly acceptable and prove they could've been so much better than how they ended up sounding on the LP.Marky Dread wrote: ↑04 Oct 2018, 12:17pmNext up : The Station, Gateshead, Newcastle Upon Tyne, May 11, 1985. Is this from the upgrade Chuck posted recently?Marky Dread wrote: ↑04 Oct 2018, 12:17pmNext up : The Station, Gateshead, Newcastle Upon Tyne, May 11, 1985. (Busking tour)

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: Marky Dread Remasters
Yep got it thanks. Only real interesting bit for me is the intro that is not really essential but fun to hear. It's been released a handful of times. The source for mine was the silver cd "Friday Night Saturday Morning". I'm not certain that the one posted by Chuck is much of an upgrade other than being more complete by including the short intro. I compared Cool Under Heat from Chuck's upload compared to mine and the only difference I can here is less hiss and little more bass on my remaster. Either way it's cool to have both. When it comes to listening to these old tapes/bootlegs etc it's all subjective really. My preference is for as clean and as sharp a sound as possible without losing too much live fidelity but it's always a compromise.matedog wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 2:41pmviewtopic.php?f=10&t=11795Marky Dread wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 2:35pmDidn't know Chuck had posted one.matedog wrote: ↑03 Jan 2019, 2:04pmIs this from the upgrade Chuck posted recently?Marky Dread wrote: ↑04 Oct 2018, 12:17pmNext up : The Station, Gateshead, Newcastle Upon Tyne, May 11, 1985. Cheers Marky! The BAD is a great listen, too bad about Beatbox but still lovely to hear these songs in such good quality.
Re: Marky Dread Remasters
Nice one Marky. Definite improvement, as usual.
