Is this still on for the EET WEEK listening party?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

For sure. Maybe part 2 will be out by then!

Just, wow. Cut the Crap without Joe Strummer, whose singing and presence was its only raison d'etre, unless one counts the fulfilling of Bernard's hubris as a good thing.

I kinda like Are You Ready.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I bet it's not as good as Kory's.

I haven't listened to cut the crap in over 20 years so there's really no way in the hell I would I want to listen to some bullshit knockoff nonsense of an already smelly turd. It would be like going to Taco Bell & getting diarrhea & then going to White Castle to try & make it better... all you're gonna be left with is more shit.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Hard to compare. Both are quite enjoyable. This one practically took the Armagideon Time backing track. Works pretty alright.

Yeah, Are You Red..Y was also one of the better tracks.

Between IMCT's "tribute" and this one, I think there's a blueprint for how to do a CtC cover album the right way.

Hey everyone,
Bill from Crooked Beat Records has been made aware of this thread, and he was very amused by the responses of some people. He was struck by your confidence in your own "Cut The Crap" compilation, and he's interested to hear what you did- the only track he was able to find on his own was "We Are The Clash". He is also offering to include your "Cut The Crap" covers as downloadable content on our "Recutting The Crap, Volume 2", which comes out next Record Store Day. He organized this compilation to show that underneath the terrible production, there were some really solid, great songs. He figures that the more good covers he can include as downloads, the better that will be. If you're interested, his email is crookedbeat@crookedbeat.com.

-Gus, Crooked Beat Records

C'mon lads, someone send Bill a link to the album. Play To Win deserves its place in history, surely?

Fuck, can we front load with hestons competent covers? We don't need my Dictator leading off.

I'm a (slightly) better singer and guitar player than I was when we recorded that album. If we're going to share it more widely, I'd prefer the chance to re-record.
