Sound System has worn off, it's time for some new Clash product or even the long awaited and delayed and probably never gonna happen BAD Deluxe.

Both those ideas sound good to me.

Didn't they say Soundsystem was going to be the last thing they were ever going to release?

Wasn't there supposed to be a Joe Strummer solo material compilation?

And/or the book Luce was supposed to be working on?

And/or the BOX SET (Joe audio stuff) Luce was supposed to be working on.
Re. Sound System being the last word... let's face it, we all know there's tons of pro-quality stuff available for another 'legacy' 'heritage' 'anniversary 'release.
Never mind the archive stuff - audio or video - that is NOT circulating.
As and when, we'll get a DVD, or CD, or deluxe pledge project, or download thing(s)... and then another (etc etc)
We just need to be patient... (Grrrrrrrr!)

I don't know John. The Jam put out that live box. What would be the Clash's rationale for another release? Half of Rat Patrol or more is available officially. They don't really want to put it out as a release, even paired with Combat Rock, as Joe isn't around to agree and he didn't approve at the time. I don't foresee them releasing more demos, though for a different act that did release expanded versions of their albums, the Basing Street demos would fit with Rope. But the Beatles didn't append extra tracks to their album re-releases, and I think their box was sort of a model for Sound System. I could see that Bonds may have been the basis for a release, but the interest has probably waned. The only official live release they put out was Shea, which was recorded for an album when they were still together and which Joe approved before he died.

The Jam also did a good job of the Setting Sons box including all the demos.
I'm sure by now Joe would have changed his stance on Rat Patrol for a Combat Rock box.

You may be right, but I don't know that Paul knows that, and I don't think Mick is too gung-ho about pressing the point.
