Relaunching my 101'ers website - your help needed

Post by Ivanhoe's »

Hi everyone,

Hope I have posted this in the right forum. For various reasons I have been out of the scene for a while. Sincere apologies to anyone I lost touch with, I met some great people on here :disshame:

Some of you might remember my 101'ers website....I created it while at Uni, it was a very very basic job (half of it done on paint/word!), eventually the website renewal fees kept going up, I think it cost me about £5 to create it in the first place but in the end I was being quoted £100+ to renew it and keep the http://www.101ers.co.uk address. It might not sound much but at the time it was a big amount to me and I couldn't justify spending that amount. Straight away someone else bought that name.

Unfortunately like an idiot I didn't save anything, so when the website was finally removed I lost the lot. All the information, the pictures, the stories....disappeared into the black pit of the internet! The best I can find is this archived front page:
http://archive.is/LjxZh

I am working on creating the site again, hopefully it will be a bit more modern and user friendly and not look like a relic of 1997(!!).

Since the creation of the website, social media has really taken off, my hope is there are more 101'ers recordings out there waiting to be discovered. You might remember the guy who had a recording of The 101'ers at the Nashville Rooms (one of the gigs they did with the Sex Pistols), I received a 60 second clip of it then it hit a dead end and he ceased communication but I am going to try him again and see if we can work something out.

So.....

If anyone saved anything from the site, has any info, stories, recollections etc please let me have them so I can start the long process of rebuilding it, also if any of you can help create websites I might need your expertise...I'm a bit of a technophobe still!

PM me here or email Peterc31@hotmail.com

Thanks everyone, stay safe.
Peter

Alright, Pete! Good to know you're still out there!
I've nothing practical to offer I'm afraid, but just wanted to say good luck with your re-boot of the website.

No not me. I wonder if that was Graham (not sure of his username - I called him Jock), he was great at doing T-shirts, badges etc.

Cheers everyone, the good news is I kept all the original clippings and articles so I can scan them in easily.

All my emails were deleted about 3 years ago, there were some great stories emailed into me which are lost, anything to contribute please PM/Email me.
