I saw Huey Lewis & The News at the Greeley Stampede & Rodeo in Greeley, Colorado for a 4th of July concert. Alabama was the opener. God Bless America. And Marky. And Joe Strummer.

I was a kid. My family had gotten free tickets because our boy scout troop volunteered to clean up trash at the rodeo that day or something. The particulars are a little hazy. In any case, probably not a lineup I'd deliberately go see again. Ever.

Morrissey's new single.
He'd hate the Boy Scouts solely for campfire hot dogs and hamburgers.

I don’t think there was a lot of crossover between Clover and the News (I think just Lewis and one other guy). And Huey Lewis himself wasn’t on the album.

Yep you are correct just the drummer.

Clover that backed Costello on "My Aim Is True" :
John McFee - Lead and pedal steel guitar
John Ciambotti - Bass
Sean Hopper - Keyboards
Mickey Shine - Drums

Those who went on to Huey Lewis & the News :
Mickey Shine - Drums

John Mcfee joined The Doobie Brothers and later sessions with Elvis Costello. McFee, Ciambotti, and Hopper - reunited for two concerts backing Elvis Costello in San Francisco on November 8, 2007 playing MAIT, Pete Thomas handled the drums. I have this recording on bootleg and it sounds great.

Huey Lewis is a terriffic harp player. He plays on Thin Lizzy's Live & Dangerous on one track.
