Giant S on my forehead and all, but I went ahead and ordered the super deluxe set. Hey, I'm actually set up to be able to play the cassette!
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

No way I'm not going to be getting the Super Duper Deluxe set even though i've currently no way of playing the cassette. Bit strange there's no apparent B side to the US North 12". Dont think i ever had a vinyl record that didnt have a B side.

What's up with the download version costing more than the cd?

They owe it to the fans.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I'll bet Mick is behind this.

Is there a fire nearby? Because there's some feet-holding to be done.

Man, we haven't seen clashrocker in five years now. I forgot he was feet to the fire/owe it to the fans/shoot the messenger.

I hope the 001 is a prelude to more, rather than a Story of the Clash Vol 1 joke!
Damn I thought for sure it was the former but now you have me wondering!

Looks like a great set. Those three songs from the When Pigs Fly sessions are some of my favorites, it will be nice to have those in good quality.

What's really funny about the dumb "rebellion into money" barb is that of all the notable bands from that period, the Clash have been notably averse to releasing rehashed compilations. We get a new Sex Pistols best-of or Bollocks release seemingly every two years and the Fall were legendary in slapping together odd mixes and live cuts every few months. Joe's been dead for fifteen-plus years and this is the first proper summary release. Just milking that cow, huh?

I just heard about this and am getting choked up at the thought of finally hearing U.S. North. I'm not even going to try describe how excited I am.

Incredible, isn't it? I'm just waiting for the first "Joe will be turning in his grave" comment.

I'm not agreeing with the hey-look-me-I-can-quote-a-Clash-lyric bullshit...but

Whilst not in the same league as The Jam when it comes to compilations they (The Clash) still have put out more than you think Let's have a look then doc. Not over milking the cow but us fans have bought their stuff over and over.

Not in any order :

The Story of The Clash Vol. 1
The Singles
Sound System
The Crucial Music : Clash Collection
The Crucial Music : 1977 Revisited
Hits Back
The Clash - The Clash compilation
Clash On Broadway
Black Market Clash
Super Black Market Clash
The Clash - Collectors Series
The Essential Clash

Plus the albums have been reissued at least three times.
