However any Weller doubters needn’t bother you will hate it.
But here's the worst part. 5 compilation albums, including a 3cd set and a 4cd set which has Jam and Style Council too.
I stand by my belief that he's worth a pretty good compilation, but he hasn't half taken the piss with a pretty meagre and piss-poor output since 1990.
But I can’t defend a whole album of it.

I heard bits of all the tracks in lead up to release and with trepidation I listened to the whole thing yesterday all the way through Have to agree with my little cousin on this oneHeston wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 9:43pmWhat I heard was indefensible.101Walterton wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 9:29pmWeller has had some great ballads along the way but they usually sound better when hidden amongst a typical Weller album. I agree with the Jam compilations. I thought Live! and Extras were great, but more often than not it's just rehashes. Even the 5cd box had an album of 'extras' that didn't make extras. I might try to listen to the soundtrack though, just to hear something different.Marky Dread wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 10:45amMore Jam compilations than you can mention. His past gets regurgitated at an alarming rate. Paul has said he can't afford to stop touring/releasing due to the amount of children he now has (7). That soundtrack is no holy grail but it sure is different it's mostly experimental instrumental tracks. Just 2 tracks out of the 7 sound like Paul Weller solo album fare. The lead off track is 21 mins 30 secs long.dave202 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 6:36amI'd always thought the best of Paul's solo career would make a pretty good compilation, then I started looking at his output. 14 solo albums, including one of covers, over almost three decades. 6 live albums - milking that a bit, and a bit more if you include the live one that was part of the 2cd 'Modern Classics' set, and 2cd 'At The Beeb'. 1 soundtrack - that surprised me, never heard of it and no intention of finding out unless someone convinces me it's some sort of Holy Grail.Heston wrote: ↑12 Sep 2018, 5:36pmI've heard one song and it was horrible crooning shite. Looks good, doesn't it? Not convinced by the "posted by Joe Strummer" bit though!

Yes. It hopefully won't have the voiceover at the end.101Walterton wrote: ↑19 Sep 2018, 4:46amIs that the usual version of Rockin World from South Park CD?

Re: NEW JOE STRUMMER ANTHOLOGY?
The box set version is on Spotify now. It cuts off immediately at the end. It still has Isaac Hayes' vocals which are kinda cool, but also kinda take away from the song.Heston wrote: ↑19 Sep 2018, 5:38amYes. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
