Global A Go-Go is a very enjoyable album

Post by mike on ice »

I figured it was worth mentioning, as I'm listening for the first time in a long while. As someone in his early 30's, the Mescaleros hold a special place in my heart, being that it was the first time I was able to see Joe in the flesh.

I'd go further and say it's a work of near genius. I'd have it only second behind London Calling in the entire Clash-related canon. I take the point many make about the vocal Minstrel Boy being an improvement on the 17-minute marathon, but it's still a Sandinista!-style indulgence I quite enjoy. Love it to bits. Getting Tymon involved was a master-stroke.

My favourite, with Shaktar being my favourite Mescaleros track.

Bindi Bhagee one of the best songs Joe ever wrote and certainly one of my favourite alltime tracks from any band.
Would rather have Black Hawk Down Mistrel Boy on album.

Word. My MP3 playlist version makes the switch and it kicks the whole album up a notch. It's like adding a dash of hot sauce to a good soup and turning it into a great one.

In a perfect world the instrumental would have been a cool bonus 7" to the album (or something) with the BHD version appearing on it properly.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

yup, on both counts. Bindi Bhagge is so joyful, funny, true. food and music - what else do ya need? (well, sex. and the music supplies that).

How compressed would a 7" have to be to fit an 18 minute song on it?

I hope part 2 is massively remixed.

WELL GOOD, BECAUSE I NEED AT LEAST 6 REMIXES FOR MY NEW MAXI SINGLE.

I've always wanted a production credit on a maxi single. ALWAYS
