It's only syphilitic weirdos at Vox who would think the Carrier deal would somehow be bad for Trump. I agree with the take that the policy implications don't really help workers overall, that there's a lot of smoke-and-mirrors. But until the Dems actually offer a viable alternative to America that protects livelihoods in a direct, tangible way, folks are going to be really positive on this kind of stuff.

But instead of figuring out how to create a pro-worker alternative, Dems are busy signing up for more years of The Nancy Pelosi Experience.
Did you know they really won the popular vote, even though that has never meant a bucket of warm spit in this country? If not, wait 3 seconds and they'll tell you.
And here comes the slew-footing of Keith Ellison's bid to become DCCC chair and maybe/possibly institute a program of not losing elections at every single goddamn level. All because the Dems' #1 richest single donor--like Adelson on the GOP side--is an equally fire-breathing Zionist and Islamophobe whose sole goal in life is to make America do all heavy lifting for Israel's manifest destiny of Holy semi-hot war. The trumped-up charges of anti-Semitism against Ellison have already been amped-up to full-on character assassination. Just re-fighting the primaries in a different theatre.

If he gets done in by this campaign in favor of yet another hawkish stooge, just get on with the business of getting the DSA on the ballot in as many states as humanly possible as a certified party that co-nominates progressive Dems on a second line ballot item (like a lot of state-level 3rd parties do in semi-parastic practice in various one-party-rule states in order to differentiate within the big tent). It'll still take a Dem nomination to get people elected in effective numbers at the lower offices where the real power is concentrated, but at least it constitutes the official break from ever allowing the Democratic Party to launder your own donations to their own tribalism. And that's something productive for the long game. We'll at least know soon enough if the personal destruction of Ellison as an example to others sticks and be able to move on a full 2 years in advance of the next election.

I hope Ellison gets in. If he doesn't, then we're gonna have to jump straight to the long-term plan. It'd be nice to get a band-aid beforehand, but...

What kills me is that these are the same PRAGMATIC PROGRESSIVES that constantly accuse the left of being unrealistic and naive.

My crazy, Trump supporting, gun loving aunt from Dallas posted on Facebook yesterday how Obama is going to be setting up a shadow government once Trump is inaugurated. I have a feeling she might be a Sandy Hook hoaxer, too. This is what happens to Jews when you let them live in Dallas. I am so glad my parents moved us out of that shithole when I was 4.

I follow a lot of people on twitter who are champing at the bit for the elector's decision. Ever since the Hill lost, all I've been seeing is a lot of crying and whining in my tl. If they actually let Cheetoh slide on through, my tl is going to erupt with even more of this. Look, I'm disappointed the dude got in there, too, but accept the defeat and get ready for a fight. The next few days are going to be insane no matter the outcome. If they block cheddar cheese head, expect shit to hit the fan.

P.S. I'm tired.

P.P.S. Jenny, sorry about your aunt.

It's been mostly quiet since the results were announced. I think people are just worn out.

We're busy being assimilated into Obama's shadow government. :shifty:
