Screw the bacon and fries, I want the jailbait. ;)
Jailbait was running for the American Nazi Party.
I'd welcome her trying out a final solution on me.
Your goose can't step with her.

Considering this wasn't a re-election, I'm fairly pleased with those numbers.

Bacon wins in a landslide. Every time.

I just noticed this.

Last March I sat in a hospital room and watched Ali's grandmother die of cancer.

She was most certainly NOT euthanized.

That's repulsive.

I honestly don't know one way or another with my dad. He died at home, in some kind of a morphine coma. A nurse came by once a day to check dosages and the like, and maybe she did increase it at the end. Irrelevant, tho, as he was for all intents gone already. If she did speed things along, it was out of mercy.

that's just sick.
i had a cousin who passed away when we were both 11 due to neuroblastoma (form of cancer). certainly not euthanized either.

dr.m: many hospice type nurses have been known to slip an extra bottle of morphine to the patients family for them to give to the patient when they 'feel' the patient should go, or will up the dosage themselves before they leave. they are pretty good at knowing when the patient is at the very end, and like you said, do it out of mercy.
they did that when my friends grandmother was in hospice. the nurse gave a bottle and syringe to her uncle and told him that this is just enough morphine to stop her heart if they feel it is time and needed. they never used it cos she passed away when they happened to all fall asleep.

Yeah, we were given extra morphine in case my dad seemed in extra pain (a perversely relative term) but none had it in us to speed things along.

Voters of Georgia prove you can get a second...no, third...chance to prove that kicking a war hero with no legs pays big and lasting, re-elect gutless slime Saxby Chambliss to Senate in a rout. :yuck:

Unless they're Republicans, in which case they are heroes.

Are you suggesting that to meet the food crisis we start hunting cripples?

Were we all a bunch of doe-eyed utopians, eager to hop on Barry's train to immortality? The main thing that I know I was wrong about was the GOP having an implosion purge of the mouthbreathers. Who would have thought doubling down over and over would continue to pay off?

I think everyone on the left allowed themselves some Obama-based idealism that year. My favourite part of this thread was the very savvy speculation from Rat Patrol on Romney as a possible running mate for McCain. That's where his campaign could have been a contender. A great time capsule's going to be lost when forum's archives disappear from the web when people stop paying the bills.

Perhaps the transcript of the thread will say different, but my recollection of my hopes, as it were, for Obama rested on him being a smart guy and an Xer, that perhaps those two factors would ameliorate a lot of the awful that comes from the job. And, well, yeah, I was wrong.
