Re: Preznidential Softcore
None of this should surprise. Harding was the W. of his day (or at least pre-finding Jesus W.). Or maybe he was more like Reagan. An amiable dunce who put people at ease and in exchange he just liked to have a good time. Prohibition didn't stop the booze flowing in the White House and the late night poker games were a regularity, along with spittoons for the guests. There were all kinds of stories of him screwing the female help in the closets. He really was the kind of president who reflected Jazz Age fun times (far more so than Coolidge or Hoover), but his doltery did him in by the quality of the people around.
