To be fair, I think a fetilizer plant or two self-combusted in the Dallas/Ft. Worth era that day. It being a Tuesday and all.

I'll never forget, on that fateful day, I was in high school and tried to leverage what was happening to be released from class early.

Alas, tragedy.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

As a bigot, I greeted that day as an opportunity for me to just be me, and start screaming at brown people and urging them to all be rounded up. So, yeah, Woodstock.

In the days after, B received a notice from the university administration that professors should be considerate of students' psychological well-being and grant deferments for papers and exams. This was in September … for due dates in October, November, and December. And it was in Saskatoon, which is a hundred kilometres northeast of nowhere. Too bad, kid, that you watched something scary on television that took place thousands of miles away. Way to treat something awful that happened to thousands of families and use it as a reason for not studying. If you can't handle that, maybe you're not mature enough to be in school—or in public—and you should get rid of your tv.

Even when I worked as a teacher, I'd have to respect that level of exploitative indolence.
