I wouldn't be surprised if the law had been proposed and passed by the flight attendant at that moment.eumaas wrote:First time I've ever heard of that rule/law.Dr. Medulla wrote:If you're brown, you're goin' down.

Best flight I ever had was a Southwest, though. It was a short hop from Baltimore to Norfolk. On the incline the crew sent peanuts sliding down the aisles, and the pilot and crew's banter was actually funny. I think they may have had a bit to drink. It was awesome.

That's a pretty typical SW flight. They are great for short jaunts. Long flights, however, you'd want to look elsewhere (pricewise too).eumaas wrote:Best flight I ever had was a Southwest, though. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Sounds a lot like WestJet in Canada. A bit cheaper than Air Canada but limited routes. However, the service is excellent, with banter from the pilots and flight attendants. They never fail to offer up the freebies whenever anything goes even slightly wrong. It really stands out compared to the airborne gulag of Air Canada.matedog wrote:That's a pretty typical SW flight. Southwest is great. I used to live in a BFE city whose only airline was US Airways (overpriced tickets, charges $2 for peanuts, charges $50 for bags, plays credit card advertisements over the PA while I'm trying to fucking sleep, routes every flight possible through the godawful Philly airport). I'll take Southwest and their liberal free booze ticket policy, free snacks, genuinely nice crew, etc...any day over that.matedog wrote:That's a pretty typical SW flight. Gene - I flew into Norfolk last month, one of the better airports I've flown into. Security line is short and they don't have to shuttle you all over the place. Anything else I should put on a checklist to do next time I'm down there and actually have a spare second to check it out?
