Just called my esteemed Senator Roy Blunt to ask him to support Manchin Toomey (a bipartisan gun violence prevention bill) and his stupid aide hung up on me. Fucking monsters, the lot of them.

Oh, if I had a spare afternoon I'd get to the front of the queue of phone-bombing the sons of bitches, over and over.

If we were organized and (sufficiently) malicious, we'd engage in a campaign that concludes with the aide gunned down by state troopers. Ah, to dream …

They tried this last year and it didn't make it out of committee, but I have a feeling it will this time.

A bill just passed the House mandating a 72-hour waiting period to get an abortion. This state has only one abortion provider, and it's in St. Louis. Not exactly convenient for most of the state. And it's not like this is a decision that people make on a whim. I know that the two-party system is very unpopular around these parts, but until a viable third-party candidate emerges to fight this bullshit, I am voting democrat in state elections.

“It’s an absolute infringement on people’s beliefs,” Brattin told the Kansas City Star of requiring schools to teach evolution. “What’s being taught is just as much faith and, you know, just as much pulled out of the air as, say, any religion."
I applaud his admission that religion is completely made up.
