A DS9 movie would haul so much ass. Easily the best Trek that ever was.
You forgot to add [/nerd] to the end of that.
Why, was there some ambiguity that my statement shouldn't be read as anything but nerdacious?
No, you needed to close that to keep every other post from being infected by your nerdacity.

I don't watch the reruns or anything, but at the time.....Hell yes, it was. The captain loved baseball and they were at war with a crack-addicted army.

Your faith in the power of brackets is unwarranted.

No better summary of why DS9 was great.

1. Hitler and Bush is a poor, poor comparison (for reasons cited above)

2. Regardless of what Bush may wish to see rise to power in his heart of hearts, he doesn't really politically advocate for fascism.

3. Most importantly, a DS9 movie would be fucking awesome. I hope that the new movie re-boot generates enough interest/money in the franchise again to give them leeway to make some more fan-oriented movies (which a DS9 flick certainly would be)

4. I will never, ever [/nerd]

A bracket storm destroyed my family's chicken farm in Arkansas. My lack of faith is from hard experience.

Bush / Hitler is that an anagram?

I'm not a fan of arguing over terminology, particularly political labels, but he certainly whipped the U.S. from the right wing into a unified anti-Islamic frenzy bent on vengeance and military action out of fear from another 9-11 attack, all the while cutting back on individual liberties and democracy and expanding the powers of his dictator-like executive office. He doesn't care for socialism or communism, and openly doesn't care what people think of him or his decisions or policies. (Not that this justifies him being compared to Hitler but it does indicate fascist tendencies, I think.)

Bush, like Reagan, is a lackey ( Hell, what American president has'nt been--at least post Civil War. The dems--outside of 'just nuke'em Truman' just tend to be more touchy, feely about it.)However, the corporate fascism they have been the mouthpiece/figurehead for is quite comparable to the Nazi's--propaganda promoting xenophobia, racism, anti-labor/social movements-- homophobic, misogynistic...because there is no overt platform of genocide does not mean there is no responsibility in the failure to act in Rwanda or Sudan--or the indirect ( or not so indirect) involvement in East Timor, Palestine/Israel and Central America....could go on ad nauseam As a human is Bush (or Reagan) as "evil' as Hitler? Was Hitler really--as just one individual--so profoundly evil or the charismatic figurehead of an evil machine? (Don't take that wrong--not trying to be revisionist--I just have a hard time believing a modern industrial power can be "led" into such atrocities by one freaking guy. Follow the money. See who's still around.)

Anyways, shooting from the hip here. Glad Satch's is back up (hardly posted but visited a lot. Didn't like the refugee camp--so I've resolved to be more active here). Cheers.

Yet you do need to be a complete asshole to be a hitler or a nazi. Funny how things work. :D

Well, this is a case where, despite matedog's complaints, a Venn diagram would be helpful.
