Oh, now isn't that nice. People are lining the streets cheering the caravan of heavy military vehicles in celebration. They've learned to love their police state that shut down the city for days! We will all learn to love our police state!
I don't even know what's what anymore.

Yup. And he won't be spilling anyone else's guts anymore.Mimi wrote:I'm glad he's alive. Let's hope he spills his guts.
Hope enjoys his 23 hours a day in solitary in Federal prison for the rest of his life, with not even the chance of being mercifully shanked in general population.

I've thought that periodically throughout the day, the ease that people accepted/approved of martial law and the surveillance state. This hasn't been a good week for the Tea Party crowd.Rat Patrol wrote:Oh, now isn't that nice. People are lining the streets cheering the caravan of heavy military vehicles in celebration. Re: Chaos at MIT
And it only cost $⅓B in lost revenue to shut down the entirety of the 10th largest metropolitan area in the country for a whole day to find the little punk who was hiding out a mere 3-block radius from exactly where everyone thought he was hiding out last night, plus whatever expenses the show-of-force incurred. That's, like, 3 Baghdad days! It's practically cheap! And the drones hadn't even arrived yet!!!Dr. Medulla wrote:I've thought that periodically throughout the day, the ease that people accepted/approved of martial law and the surveillance state. Re: Chaos at MIT
Some Arkansas State Rep tweeted that all them Boston liberals probably wished they had an assault rifle today. Which is odd, given that today would be a good day to get shot on sight for being out with a gun.

He got so much shit for that that he retracted it with an incredibly lame apology about making it "at the wrong time." It read like "Well, I'm sorry you got offended."Dr. Medulla wrote:Some Arkansas State Rep tweeted that all them Boston liberals probably wished they had an assault rifle today. Re: Chaos at MIT
Media sorts really ought to quit using the pseudo-military/security apparatus term "lockdown".
Quite annoying. And false. Nobody was locked down, and it would be unenforceable anyway. People were requested and advised not be out on the streets. People clearly stayed indoors out of fear, anxiety and a willingness to cooperate with the only people qualified to kill or capture extremely dangerous psychopaths. And maybe to just to get a day off work.

Now that we have "closure" is everybody "healing" as we "go forward"?

What does chanting "USA!", "USA!" mean? Again, I think only TV People do that sort of thing.
