Saw my friend was running in it earlier today. His wife already checked in on FB saying they are okay. Sounds like there are injuries, hopefully none too serious. The photo on cnn looks pretty bad though.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I read there were at least 3 deaths. Is there any indication who is responsible ?

No indication yet. Horrible.
I'm so punk, I don't even take my leather jacket off when it catches fire. Which it does frequently, because of how fucking punk I am.

Apparently a bomb also exploded at the JFK Library.

My initial thought: It's Tax Day in the US, so it's anti-tax nuts.

edit: Add to that, Patriot's Day in Massachusetts, so it could be a "connection" to the American Revolution.

They found another and did a controlled explosion at Boston Public Library. It's just a few blocks away from the others.

It could be anybody. Maybe some gun nut wanting to target the Newtown runners, or the Al Qaeda's of the world. Or some nut without any ideology like the Aurora, CO shooter.

96 Olympic bombing was some anti-abortion nut.
