I said this on twitter, but harris always sounds like she preps for public speaking engagements by listening to a bunch of Spacemen 3 records.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

So I gather he gave women everywhere a fresh reminder of what it's like to be in a meeting with a man.

Yeah he was interrupting her and being a dick in general. But always making these faux polite statements. I really would prefer the electric shock or some sort of automated kick in the nuts for people stepping out of line in these debates but your suggestion of cutting their mic would work too I suppose.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑08 Oct 2020, 6:46amSo I gather he gave women everywhere a fresh reminder of what it's like to be in a meeting with a man.
I actually finally heard an NPR host cut the mic on a Trump surrogate who was loudly rambling and not answering the question. FINALLY.

Their debate strategy is to talk over people it seems.

The shit is so simple if they actually care about these things. If it's not your time, your mic is off. And if you start talking anyway, dock their own speaking time.

Re: The Election Thread To Talk About The Election
Hello,
I heard on NPR this morning that the next debate will likely be virtual. The President will decline if it's virtual because "no one will watch, it'll be like watching a computer" (I'm trying to quote his comment but I was driving and can't recall exactly).
No more debates. As a US citizen, I'm embarrassed enough already.

Credit Trump with all-but-admitting that these debates are about spectacle not substance.gkbill wrote: ↑08 Oct 2020, 11:04amHello,

Maybe he thinks a virtual debate would be like Lawnmower Man.

I'm not sure how it's different from watching a TV.

His adopting of Twitter is quite impressive, all things considered.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Just saw this on the news...
Takes 6 hours to get astronauts to the ISS.
Takes 8 hours to vote in Georgia (if you're black).
