I've been paying attention to the corruption scandal in Alaska on NPR and still hadn't heard of her.

Hah heard of her but only to the degree that (a) she's popular in Alaska and (b) a corruption investigation probably would sink her VP nominee chances (guess not).

Heard of her because she's been the most likely ballot substitute for awhile if Ted 'Tubes' Stevens' corruption investigation forced him far enough behind in the polls (which it has) to pass on reelection...until Palin's own investigation blew up. And then the VP talk because her own politics are sufficiently Attila the Hun-esque until...well...that whole investigation thing dimmed (until the other day) her chances.

I wasn't aware she was a MILF until recently. Although that Vogue pose is Kerry-windsurfing unintentionally hilarious. I'm going to guess she's not done many glamour shots before because she seemed to be trying way too hard.

Er...a little scary (and badly airbrushed), but I'd still motorboat.

For the record, that's a photoshop. She was never on the cover of vogue, in case anyone thought that.

Right -- there was a Vogue article about her, but she was never on the cover. Thankdully she's thin, or Anna Wintour wouldn't have let her anywhere near her magazine.

Yesterday, I stocked up on vinegar, bandannas, and Speedo brand swim goggles. I already have a pair of protective gloves.

Seriously.

I expect tear gas to be in the air.

The march starts at the state Capitol at 11 a.m. Monday.

A trio of like-minded individuals meet at our house at 8:30 for ... preparations.

The five of us (Mrs. Spiff is coming along, natch) will be in a crowd projected to number 50,000.

The kids are staying home for this one...

I sure hope we don't do anything that makes us stand out in that crowd.

Afterwards, there's music down by the river featuring Billy Bragg, among other artists.

I'll try to give a report on Tuesday.
