Blatant attempt to pick up Hillaryites.

But I thought Obama was too young and experienced for the job …
Oh, wait, she was a governor, so she has executive experience.
But I thought Howard Dean and Bill Clinton didn't have the right kind of experience as just governors …

Says a lot about political conviction if you cross to a right-wing gun nut with a couple of years of experience just to vote out of spite.Jimmy Jazz wrote:It will probably work too, I know a couple who are so ridiculously bitter about Obama winning the primary.eumaas wrote:Blatant attempt to pick up Hillaryites.

Re: Oh, McCain...
She's been gov. for one year in a state where winning the Republican primary means winning the election. And she's already under investigation for corruption. I don't think the "Obama is too inexperienced" meme from that campaign is going to pass the laugh test anymore. And if this is a blatant pander to attract women pissed off by Hillary's defeat, wait till they get a load of Palin's wingnut politics and Hillary's soon-to-be public evisceration of her.
Foot, meet bullet. I think it'll give McCain a big convention bounce and forward momentum for about a news cycle or two, but the limitations of the pick are going to manifest themselves as the campaign wears on and eventually start to box the ticket in a corner.
Going to hurt the Republicans' firewall in the Senate too since Ted Stevens is going down for the count in his own, much worse corruption investigation and is now down in unheard-of-for-Stevens-or-Alaska double-digits against his D opponent and losing more ground as his investigation digs on. Palin was the only viable candidate to replace him on that ticket if he bled support to the point where he strategically had to drop out, and she was basically on standby to step in before the replacement deadline if that had to happen. So this pretty much ensures that the R's are going to lose that Senate seat. And I do think Palin's investigation will hurt her more than the inexperience in the general election. That's how Geraldine Ferraro got mortally wounded when she was VP nominee...scandal, not experience or vagina. Biden is squeaky clean and an all-world debater so the head-to-head is awfully unfavorable.
