This news seems fairly horrible. I think "horrible crime" is probably want we want here.

Sounds like it's a big outrage in the EU right now, but here in the States CNN et al. are reading straight off the IDF script (CNN just suggested the flotilla was secretly connected to Al Qaeda).

No kidding. What's nuts here is that a) the IDF account of what happened is vigorously disputed, and b) even if you accept their account of what took place it's still completely horrible.

It's intriguing that Volokh has/had some kind of reputation as a decent libertarian/conservative blog commentary site, since literally everything I've ever seen on there has been utterly and totally intellectually bankrupt and a travesty to any reasonable notion of libertarian thought.

They seem like freepers who can spell decently.

Even I am at a loss about this. Yes, there is video showing that the commandos were attacked, but what were they doing there in the first place? I don't know what they were thinking. I don't understand why they would do something like this, fully knowing how the world would react.

I just don't want this new guy coming in and turning this into a whole anti-Israel crusade.
