Don't stare at my tribe mister!
Forces have been looting
My humanity
Curfews have been curbing
The end of liberty
We're the flowers in the dustbin...
No fuchsias for you.

My dad's roots are in Häme and mom is from Karjala, the easternmost part of Finland. Mom is Greek Orthodox, but I was baptised as Lutheran like my dad. I suppose this makes me a pretty average Finn. I hate all Swedes and Russians. Norwegians are ok as long as they stick to their own reindeer herding pastures. The Estonians I consider decent and only slightly inferior folk.

I heard Finns are all spell casting wizards. Is that true? I mean, I heard it from a text in Old Norse so I guess things could have changed by now?Vimmattu wrote:My dad's roots are in Häme and mom is from Karjala, the easternmost part of Finland. I seem to remember there being a few bits of Magick in the Kalevala.eumaas wrote:I heard Finns are all spell casting wizards. Is that true? Hey now, I don't read anything after the invention of the printing press--you just can't trust books these days.Wolter wrote:I seem to remember there being a few bits of Magick in the Kalevala.eumaas wrote:I heard Finns are all spell casting wizards. I heard that Finns are responsible for at least two New Zealand pop bands of varying quality.

Yeah, wizardry lives strong in our woods. The Norse got that right. We are also famous for our skills in aeromantia. Kids learn how to fly very early on, way before they go to school.eumaas wrote:I heard Finns are all spell casting wizards. Is that true? A few bits? It's all Magick, baby. Numerous layers of ancient wisdom from paleolithic shamanism to viking-era wizardry and middleage pagan-christian syncretism. Some of the magick was well alive and practiced until the late 19th century, among the Sami even later. Väinämöinen can kick Gandalf's ass any time.Wolter wrote:I seem to remember there being a few bits of Magick in the Kalevala.eumaas wrote:I heard Finns are all spell casting wizards. Is that true? Re: The Tribalism Thread
To be honest, it is the other way around. But I am just one dumb Finn, so what do I know.
