It's adorable seeing Breitbart people acting like they are journalists with principles and stuff.

Why criticize the media? Assassinate them instead!

he doesn’t follow @bianatheist (as far as I know) or me so I can only presume he was searching for his own name and found the outrage he was looking for.
Or, you know, maybe someone saw it and sent him the link. But all the better to prep your reader for considering GG as a "megalomaniac," as he later put it, and therefore easier to consider him unworthy of sharing our world.

Dumbass is probably too strong. I'd say it's more that his models, which were quite good the last several elections, are based on a conventionality that just isn't in play right now. I mean, seven months ago, no one really expected Trump to come out on top or that Sanders would be so competitive.

Eh, if you were on Twitter, you'd see the amount of times he's come out with a very strong conclusion only to be completely wrong. Also, some did predict Trump winning quite early, despite pundit and quant wisdom.

Well, not to sound like I'm SIlver's press agent, but he does have a brand to protect, which requires appearing a confident expert. Which is more an indictment of how we treat public discourse—the rules of sensible scholarly conversation, which allows for more nuance and condition, is treated as weakness.
