Fuck sake, this fucking country.
I'm fully of the belief that our own election next year is going to be a repeat. The world is just in a braindead right-wing holding pattern at the moment.
I fear you're right. I just saw a poll that said only Biden would beat Trump in Wisconsin right now. I struggle to understand how that can be true, but I'm not shocked that it is.
I struggle to see Biden beating anybody.

I remember, back in '96, when Quebec held a vote to secede from Canada (its second one in sixteen years), and the pro-secession side's response to those who said it would be messy and difficult for an independent Quebec was that it would be like "a magic wand" that resets everything. You could potentially persuade me that secession was a good idea, but describing it as some kind of reset button without any negative repercussions or massive difficulties for at least a generation is complete bullshit. I've always had a measure of respect for those Southern secessionists in 1860/1861 who said, yeah, this is going to be one tough fucking slog, but we have to do it. What they represented—slavery—was pure evil, but at least they didn't think secession was gumdrops from a unicorn's asshole.

Vince has really let himself go in his later years.

The leaked Labour report is nuts. They really torpedoed Corbyn, eh?

Confirms what a lot activists had said for years. Happy to let that party rot

Lots of dead wood for me in the party. But the good guys are still in there fighting the good fight. Will their voices be heard with Keir Starker at the helm? Who knows the jury is still out on this one.

Anyone have a link to a good analysis of what's in the report? Has the report itself actually surfaced to the public?

Thanks, I think that's the first I've seen of actual excerpts of the report, very helpful.

Yeah, this stuff completely lines up with what a lot of folks speculated that the right wing of the party was cynically sabotaging both Labour's response to anti-semitism complaints in order to further castigate Corbyn and, more broadly, actively working to defeat and sabotage their own party in elections.

I wonder what it's like to have to deal with a party that behaves like that. :shifty:
