I'm hearing Johnson is allying with her, offering her the Chancellor of the Exchequer. A team to appeal to the so-called One Nationners and Brexiteers.Marky Dread wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 1:17pmAs long as it's not bloody Amber Rudd I hate her with a passion.Silent Majority wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 1:06pmYeah.Marky Dread wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 12:46pmJust a little edit makes the medicine go down.Silent Majority wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 12:40pmBoris Johnson is an annoying prick, but I think they underestimate just how much he's done to viciously alienate most of his party. So what exactly are the chances of a general election? New, unelected (you get what I mean) leader of the Tories and the UK being the catalyst. People get pissed off, pressure mounts, parliament pushes an election. Labour win and we move onwards and upwards.
Or is that incredibly naive of me?

Re: Hey limeys
No mate not naive at all. I was merely suggesting that listening to Phil takes little effort. Whereas British politics is one almighty clusterfuck. Stick to what you enjoy mate and let the politician's bury themselves in their own mess. British politician's have proven time and time again that they are more than happy to drag this country through the mud without any thought to the common man. It's a freak show now and they all want to take centre stage with social media etc etc. I can feel it coming in the air tonight so my advice to you is to hold on.BitterTom wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 5:20pmNaive, I get it.Marky Dread wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 5:18pmStick with Phil Collins it's easier.BitterTom wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 4:12pmSo what exactly are the chances of a general election? So, does Johnson's evasive handling of purported domestic abuse—not to mention the possible abuse itself—seem likely to torpedo him or do Tory insiders not give a fuck about that?

It'd hurt him in a general election, but those voting from their coffins in the Tory membership don't give a damn. It might even help.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑24 Jun 2019, 5:55pmSo, does Johnson's evasive handling of purported domestic abuse—not to mention the possible abuse itself—seem likely to torpedo him or do Tory insiders not give a fuck about that?

I'm not surprised, but, Christ, the absence of conscience in such people. Back in the 1920s and 30s, when Communists and Fascists were in ascendency, they (along with monarchists) criticized the failure of liberal democracy as a raise to the bottom, elevating the unworthy. When you look at conservative politics in particular, it's hard not to appreciate the point.Silent Majority wrote: ↑25 Jun 2019, 2:19amIt'd hurt him in a general election, but those voting from their coffins in the Tory membership don't give a damn.
