I thought Keith Levene wrote all that Shakespeare stuff?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It turns out he just wrote the first draft of Marlowe's Tamerlane. But you know how he is.

I see no reason to question the usual accounts.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

Wait, what is there to mock about Guitar Wolf?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Nothing that a 17-page thread won't fix.

This was before my time, so I would actually like an explanation. Or it was during my time but early on so I had no idea what was going on.

Others will have better memories, but it seems all he posted about was Guitar Wolf. Bootleg links and news, as I recall, but it was with stunning frequency.

You mean his interest in the band went beyond Wild Zero and a comp album?

Oh fuck yeah. Others may remember differently, but I can't recall him posting about anything but GW.

Yeah, I got nothing against Guitar Wolf, but one day he slammed on Tom Waits in a discussion about him, so I taunted him mercilessly about how much Guitar Wolf sucked. For like 3 months straight, I think.

And yeah, he talked about Guitar Wolf almost exclusively for a while there. It was excruciating.
