Re: Will the real Shakespeare please stand up?
The biggest proof is that phoney name. Have you ever heard of anyone else named Shakespeare? It's just a funny word for wagging your dick around.

Tep's got a point, tho: I've never met anyone named Shakespeare and I've never met anyone named Luke Skywalker. If he were real, he'd have a name like Billy Bob Thornton or David Letterman.Mimi wrote:Shun the non-believer!Dr. Medulla wrote:So you're saying there's insufficient evidence?Mimi wrote:Because they lack faith. See, that proves it: it was just a made-up name, just like Shakespeare. Luke sure was horny, tho, wasn't he. Sigh.tepista wrote:The singer for 2 Live crew. He was so horny.Dr. Medulla wrote: I've never met anyone named Luke Skywalker.

Re: Will the real Shakespeare please stand up?
It seems strange that it took well over a century for questions to be asked, and one question being to doubt his ability to write about international affairs. Also, it seems strange that it is only relatively recently that it has been claimed by analysis that some of the writing is by different people.
Well, for me if there was no problem in the first place, he could exist as Shakespeare. Is the name a problem? Maybe he had to change it from Letterman to get his equity card.
International affairs? That's basic ignorance from today on how much was known outside 'Old England' at that time. The Royals were all inter-twined through marriage, so the knowledge was there.
It is written by different people? Plagarism my readers. That and the fact that what he did was to adapt stories related from others. Simple when you think of it.
Look at his international contemporaries. Cervanties has doubts about his movements around Spain at the time, but still wrote amazing work. Oh, and don't go for the 'Is Shakespeare?Cervantes the one person?' debate based on the same death dates - different calendars at the time mean eleven days difference.
And look at Lope de Vaga - supposedly wrote 4000 plays and poetry whilst being a serial shagger in Madrid, before becoming a Priest and carrying on. Around a tenth of his material still exists and is unchallenged, although why not start a debate on the other 90% that no-one will ever be able to challenge.
Shakespeare was a bard, and a bard by any other name, he copied ideas from what authors, poets, playrights and singer-songwriters do still to this day, other sources.
Federico Garcia Lorca used Spanish gypsy songs and a Granadian heroinne. Leonard Cohen used Lorca. Shakespeare used what he had and put quill to parchment accordingly.

The only Cervantes I ever heard of is the guitar player for Fear Factory.

That's the best evidence that doesn't exist to prove whatever you want. By the way, I asked Johnny Marr who Shakespeare's sister was and he said he didn't have a clue, perhaps Morrissey made her up. I made that up, so I'll credit to The Bard.

That's a Married To the Sea cartoon. They have/had it as a t-shirt and I would have bought one, but they only have it in canary yellow.Flex wrote:
