I can't even fathom how that would work.
We've reached the stage where any and all labels can be joined by a hyphen.

Missing the boat and splashing around in the water:

Oh, and anybody who believes there isn't alienation in wage labor probably hasn't worked a wage job.

I mean, Kinsella's a lawyer. What does he know about the average job?

Oh mercy and golly gee, Glenn Beck is outraged—outraged!—by what Michelle Obama wore while touring the Gulf coast. Funny, the things that do and do not cause outrage in the loony camp.

He's just jealous because her arms are so fabulous and he's a big lump.

So it's more than him being an opportunistic demagogue?

The outfit outrage is silly, but this is the more truly vile stuff:
“If you just tuned in, boy, this has got to be the weirdest damn episode you've ever heard on the Glenn Beck program,” Glenn Beck admitted late last night, as he took another shot at Christian social justice missions. This time he claimed that black liberation theology—theology that believes Jesus saves victims from their oppressors—forces whites to unnecessarily confess to racism and inspires the government to redistribute money from wealthy whites to victimized minorities. Because Jesus is not a victim, in Beck's words, “Social justice isn't in the Bible.”

However three days before the resurrection, Jesus, a Palestinian Jew, himself was tortured and hung on a cross. Beck says that even then Jesus was only a victor—“If Jesus was a victim he would have come back from the dead and made the Jews pay for what they did.”

I'm surprised that he's still pushing the anti-social justice button. He pissed off a lot of Christians the last time that surfaced, left and right. Beck will flame out, that's certain, but how close are we to that day?

He's on a cable news network and AM radio. He will probably pull enough of a marginal audience to sustain his Fox News TV show as long as he wants, until he says something more overtly racist than he already has, or something explicitly slanderous. He'll be on AM radio for forever. It's AM radio. I think Imus and the Greaseman are still on AM radio, so there you go.

As for when he drops out of the public consciousness ala Michael Savage and Dr. Laura...after the 2012 election is my guess.

Depending on what happens in 2012. If the "sitting around, reading 'Guns and Ammo,' masturbating in your own feces" crowd controls the convention and gets slaughtered by Obama a la 1964, that whole brand might be in retreat.
