I've read some silly pieces that argue he is deliberately trying to lose and bring down the party with him for … reasons. The need to read some kind of rational plan in his behaviour after all this time is baffling. How about he's a senile narcissistic and racist grifter and that's all he can do? When his pettiness and whining can be easily predicted, he's not some master strategist. His fate depends on how successful his allies and enablers will be in keeping people from voting against him.
