The Future of the Republican Party

Post by Dr. Medulla »

Well, there's the Alaskan ditz. There's the Bayou Indian exorcist Mr. Rogers. There's the unlicensed plumber guy. And now there's a smart aleck thirteen year old. Seriously. The frat boy and the Bond villain don't look so ridiculous anymore …

Jeez, they're really grabbing at straws. I would encourage everyone who likes to laugh at the right-wingers to check out this HBO doc, Right America Feeling Wronged. Good Stuff.

Just get them drunk and ask them to explain the subtle difference between a black person and one.

Just finished watching Right America: Feeling Wronged. What a fucking hoot. It was, quite honestly, like watching This Is Spinal Tap. The people in it are spouting the most fucked up nonsense with a straight face. Every possible stereotype of the wingnuts on parade, from Islam to immigrants, socialism to race, morality to patriotism. A whole lot of angry and scared people and proud of it.

I just watched it. This is brilliant. The end result is, I feel bad for McCain being saddled with such a bunch of shithead followers (which I realize aren't an accurate representation of everyone who voted for him, but still).

The scene where McCain has to talk a lady down off the ledge, in front of an entire arena, after she accuses Obama of being an "Ay-rab"...oh man, there's no way to explain that kind of tension.

Maybe it's time for a third party in American politics. The Shithead party. This show provides enough convincing evidence for it.

Bad times for thinking conservatives these days because the GOP in Washington relies heavily on these re-re's. The question is how many more elections do they have to lose before they purge themselves of the neo-Know Nothings?

The New York Times did a profile of that little shithead. He's thirteen and he moans that Obama is the most left-wing president in his lifetime. True, strictly speaking, but stupid as fuck.

Looks kind of Kirk Cameronish. It's okay to beat up 13 year olds for ideological reasons right?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

That's it! I was trying to think of who he reminded me of, and that's it. Excepting science or musical prodigies, I'm not going to take seriously someone with that little life experience, no matter how many books he's read or written.
