This is just pathological.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

It's so shortsighted. It just means gunmen will come armed with paper to wrap the rocks.

Then the students will have to be armed with scissors! Fuckin' checkmate, libs.
Anyone attend their local march for lives rally today? I did not (I had signed up for a 5k months ago).

I didn't go, but 100,000 took part in the Boston march yesterday...which is about 99,750 more than the Nazis mustered for last year's overhyped "Free Speech Rally" on the Common after the Charlottesville massacre.

Re: The Gun Politics Thread
The fascinating thing to me—besides how remarkably well-spoken and media savvy are the main spokespersons amongst the students; a case of man and moment meeting, as these things do—is how desperate and awful the response has been from the 2A crowd. Condescension, dismissal, conspiracy, histrionics, and always rage. That's not the mark of a side that's winning an argument. Zero effort to put forth a rational response. Which suggests that the intellectual argument for unrestricted access to guns, developed in the 80s and 90s, has been exhausted and is now just a tantrum. It's the true believers in the Third Reich or the Soviet Union left, denying reality and where the momentum is flowing.

I’m pretty sure they just don’t want to get shot. I don’t want to get into a boring debate, I know where you stand. To exercise their first amendment right the marchers acquired permits and operated within a framework of common sense laws. I don’t think asking those exercising their second amendment rights to do the same is a big ask. I doubt they nut jobs that shoot up schools are functioning within the check and balance confines of a well regulated militia either.
Re: The Gun Politics Thread
I meant to march but accidentally ran a 5K, ladies.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

In my mind, he's also wearing the Mayor sash and top hat while doing a hurdler's stretch. In some parallel universe, this actually happened!
