Yeah, if you're not a fan of armed insurrection.

Lord knows that only the military, the police, and criminals should have guns. That's common sense.

By the way, these assault weapons bans are just silly on the face of it. They do nothing against common crime (that's handgun territory--good luck banning handguns), nor against the big time gangs (who get better, military-grade shit than what is legal in the US).

Based on history, I think it's damn sensible that we have means of resistance.

Yeah, that news article you posted here basically conveyed the opinion "yeah, if we ban assault weapons in the US, yeah, the problem in Mexico with the drug cartels and all their illicit money buying illicit guns, yeah, it'll kinda maybe sorta go away". Because Mexican drug cartel leaders don't have access to other countries with a much looser idea of drug control and drug money and gun control. Sure. If there's a reason to impose gun control, it's got to be better than that.

Obviously an overreaction on the professor's part. I'm not sure there's enough information in the article to deem whether it was just post-VT twitchiness or a reaction to a political disagreement. In any case, the moral is people (in this case, the professor) need to chill the fuck out.

Alabama, Germany or both ? These mass murders with guns dont do much to persuade me gun ownership is a good thing.

While still objecting on ethical grounds, I'd certainly see it as more fair if they also disarmed the police and the military to the same degree.

The only gun control that would work would be the kind that stops the manufacture of weapons and destroys existing weapons... and that's not going to happen.

So lets do nothing and let the killing continue.
