Reading the thread title without clicking on it, I immediately thought: "Well, what else is new?"

Looking at the link title without clicking on it, I immediately thought: "Fighting robots? This dude is pretty awesome...(sorry Flex)."

Looking at the title of that article without reading it, I immediately thought: "Uh oh."

Reading the article without seeing the video, I immediately thought: "Oh dear god no..."

Watching the video, I immediately thought: "Thank god the screen resolution is shitty...I can just pretend it's a video game animation."

Then I decided to live in blissful denial for the rest of life.

Oh, and not to make waves.

Our Christians will condemn sex and intoxication but tout violence all day long. Our morality is quite distorted. There are sensible limits to be placed upon sex and intoxication, but the desert religions have a strange compulsion to run contrary to both nature and civilization. But I wouldn't blame our violence upon those religious constraints.

But I wouldn't blame our violence upon those religious constraints.

No? Teenage Masai males are given no responsibilty whatsoever. Drinking , fighting and generaly doing everything teenagers love are treated as "normal behaviour. On becoming adults they are the most gentlemenly and respectful people you will ever meet. The Masai have recognised (about a thousand years ago) that this part of "growing up" is an escencial part of our deveopment as human beings.... For us in west this means: let your kids be punks or whatever they become nowadays, let them get D grades if they hate school... but plan for it. My parents did and I did for my kids... My girls are open and aware of thier sexuality, self confident and my oldest (20) is getting A grades at university.... People need only moral guidance not dogma.

So Maasai warrior is a misnomer? The Maasai also practice female circumcision, so I'm not sure they don't have dogmas as well.
