Now that's just over the top. I go for an Osh Kosh catalog. It's subtler and by extension classier.

here's the math, one guy and one girl. why? because they have the ability to create a family. it's simple. that's what the tradition of marriage is about. leave the churches alone. Gay Power has a history of contempt for the church. so, why marriage now? duh, free stuff and entitlements. we'll be just the same as straight people if you let us marry, we really will. aren't straight people called straight because of boring monogamy?

i don't care if you can show me the 1 or 2% of queers club that are committed relationships.

do you take this woman?
do you take this man?
i now pronounce you man and wife.
heh, that's the way i like it, and i do NOT belong to a church.

That's the dumbest fucking argument yet. If that's the case, then people past child-bearing age (or infertile couples, or couples who plain don't want kids) shouldn't be allowed to get married.

I'll give mr. d credit for one thing, he's not one of those halfway hypocrite pussies who claim to have "no problem with gays" except when it comes to granting equal rights.

True—credit for being open and ambiguous, but that has value only on a sliding scale due to how many people prefer hiding behind weasel words.

Fair play to Wolter and Doc for the use of the word "bigot" but I've copped more flak for my poor grammar this week than Diem for his homophobic rant. What is this an old boys club ?

when a young woman and man marry, there's no guarantee that they will have children. therefore, we should give up on the concept of marriage being about making families. why? if two men or two women marry, there is a guarantee, they will not. so, what's that all about? it's not about marriage. you want fries with that?

my best friend during my college days was homosexual. i know he survived the summer of '82, but we didn't stay in touch after. he partied in S.F. frequently, not necessarily a good thing at the time.

I've tried, Wally. Lord how I've tried.

Who fucking cares whether children might result or might not? All that matters is that two people choose to formalize their relationship, and it's utterly reprehensible that the state should deny that right to any segment of society, whether it's two homosexuals, a black and a white person, or a Catholic and a Jew. If you're in the corner that thinks the state should bar same sex marriage, you're breathing the same air as those who would deny a couple to marry because of race or religion.

Yeah, but you make half-sense. Diem makes no sense. We're just trying to sharpen a blade. Debating with Diem is like trying to sharpen a melon ball.
