Dr. Manhattan spends the entire arc trying to explain the difference between i.e. and e.g. to the resurrected Rorshach on the moons of Saturn while Ozymandias answers to charges that he may or may not have faked the destruction of all the world's semicolons.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

The scene where Dr. Manhattan drones on about the correctness of the Oxford style ended up killing the whole project.

Especially since Moore refused to cut even one of the 1300 panels of him standing in one place speaking.

I think you might be confusing Alan Moore with Ayn Rand.

It strikes me looking over those photos how much he's always seemed like a kid and not a man. My father, who was born a year older and also got sober around the same time Bush did, was youthful and mischievous, but carried himself like a man and spoke as someone who had lived those years. Bush by contrast seems like an uncomfortable kid, no matter his physical age. Just look at this photo:

I also remember Bush and what a lame band they were.
