How come no mention of this??? Other than Fox it was ignored election night. CNN's "no bias-no bull" turned out to be a joke. After they spent so much time alerting viewers to notify them of any voter problems yet they don't mention this at all.

Whenever you hear of people being denied the vote, either thru legislation, intimidation, or dirty tricks, 19 times out of 20, it's the party to the right of the other. Fuck, turnout in Canada the last election was down in no small part because you now need to show a picture ID with your address on it. Of course, this law was passed to prevent "voter fraud," but the effect was to disenfranchise people at the polling station. Christ, besides my passport, I don't have photo ID with my address on it now that I don't have a driver's license. The only reason they let me vote—despite me having the Elections Canada card mailed out to every person on the voting rolls—was that B vouched for me. A lot of seniors and university students ended up not voting in October because they couldn't satisfy this new requirement. Yeah, you get barely 50% turnout and they're worried about voter fraud? Horseshit. Just another attempt to restrict the franchise.

Pardon the pun---but 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Just because in the past one party may have been more guilty than the other doesn't mean that in this "new--enlightened time" we should turn a blind eye when it happens now.

Watch the video---some people would have been intimidated by that.

But my beef is more with CNN---"no bias--no bull" and all those spots they ran about if you have any problems voting---but they never said one word about this. Lou Dobbs is the only guy on their staff that has an ounce of integrity left.

Are these more of those New Black Panther Party guys? Those guys are dicks and their ideology is irrational. Cultists. They are illegitimate claimants to the name.

The Lou Dobbs reference was a joke.

Wolter---why resort to name calling?? If you disagree that it never happened that's your right but the childish references to calling me idiot don't advance your ideas any.

I've noticed a really disturbing trend on this board---if someone disagrees with some of the regular posters then they get blasted and personally attacked. That is extremely narrow and closed minded. I thought the LEFT was about inclusion and open mindedness??? Or does that only count if you agree with them.

Out of curiousity, what's your point? That CNN's coverage is biased?

What ideas do I need to advance? I just think you're an idiot.

Inder,

My original point was why isn't anyone else bothered by the non coverage of this event. Wolter may deny it but watch the video and tell me truthfully that some people would not be intimadated by this.

It bothers me that a few certain people on this board have no problem bashing Joe the Plumber(who--at least originally--only asked Mr Obama a simple question about tax rates) or bashing anyone who disagrees with their political slant. Where is the open mindedness---the inclusion of people of all ideas. A few on here will blast anyone who disagrees with them.

There is not a bigger Clash fan on this board than me. I've been with them since the beginning.

I also voted for McCain.
I'm open minded and thought through all the issues---taxes---health care---immagration---abortion---war on terror and Iraq. And McCain represented my views on more issues than Obama---I didn't agree with him on all the issues but on most. That doesn't make me an idiot. Or ill informed. Or a bad guy. Like I said--I have a brain and thoughtfully went over all the issues. But to see people absolutely blasted on here for having a difference of opinion is disheatening.

One thing I found humorous about the video was the eye-witness. He said the he wasn't afraid because he is a big tough army guy, however, he was also the one who called 911. I don't know what happened, I wasn't there, but it looked like a whole lotta nothing, and nobody asked anyone elses side, including police.
