Harding's term was scandal-riddled. Something about dome-shaped teapots or something.

Harding wasn't that bad a person, really. Bit of a Reagan in that he was very personable, but dumb as a stump. But self-aware enough that he knew he wasn't really qualified for the job. He was surrounded by seriously corrupt fucks who dragged his name down with them.

But at least Mencken managed to coin a term based on his language usage.

His "The Sahara of the Bozart" arguably curses the South to this day in terms of popular perceptions. Without Mencken and Erskine Caldwell, there'd be no Beverly Hillbillies.

It always bothers me that he is referred to as black. He's 1/2 black and 1/2 white. Sure if I saw him on the street, I'd just think of him as black, but knowing he isn't, I refer to him as mixed race. This archaic one drop rule is quite damaging for mixed race peoples.

The rule should be: What do you want to be called, and do the vast majority of others of the same group identify you as such? If he considers himself black and other self-identifying black people consider him black, that's good enough for me.

Thats the ingrained racism in society. He is as much white as black however in order to be called white you must be totally white, have a relative that once holidayed in Africa and you are black.
