the military-industrial complex

I like Ike.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

The last sensible and wise Republican president. By no means perfect—quite the racist from what I understand—but miles ahead of pretty much any Republican of the last forty years.

Yeah, but whatever Nixon's contemptible qualities, he also was more liberal than John Kerry if you're into that sort of thing.

True, very true. I've long maintained that Nixon, like LBJ, wanted to be FDR more than any other president. It was under Nixon that the EPA was initiated and he supported national comprehensive health insurance. However, personal flaws and slimy tactics bled too much into his administration. Smart fucker, too.

My "Gene doing Billy West doing Nixon" always comes out like Charles Nelson Reilly having an enema.

Ike may well be one of my favorite Presidents, specifically because if his farewell address. Here was a Republican and military man putting the country first with a real warning. I know a few military guys who have found big paydays in the MIC after leaving service.

Morbo: Tonight's debate features Puny Human #1, Puny Human #2, and Morbo's good friend, Richard Nixon.

Nixon: Hello, Morbo. How's the family?

Morbo: Belligerent and numerous.

Nixon: Good...Nixon's Pro-War and Pro-Family!

My favorite Nixon moment ever.

But my favorite Morbo moment is when his wife is fixing his tie and he's muttering quietly along the lines of "Stop it. Stop it. It's fine. Stop it. I will destroy you."

Morbo MAY be my favorite ancillary character. Not just in Futurama, but ever.
