She says that whatever the outcome of the election, she'll be a player in '12. I have a feeling that her rep is damaged so badly, Quayle-style, that she'll find that her moment passed in early Sept.

Recording a pop-country record is the one last-ditch gambit that usually works when you're fading fast and need a career jolt. Ask Jewel or Jessica Simpson.
