What a curious thing that is—fundamentally asking if opposition to May's deal isn't about principle than something personal or political. Which isn't to say that that isn't in the mix, but what a thing to raise amidst a catastrophe—would you back off contributing to the catastrophe (in the May view) and supported her plan if she removed herself? Saying yes is an admission that your perspective is exceedingly myopic and petty in the much larger context.

Re: Brexit what Brexit!
Attributing any kind of sane or logical rationale to this whole process is a fools errand at this stage i think. We are living in a world where the Brexit secretary can proclaim heartily about a particular amendment at the dispatch box and then merrily proceed through the no lobby to vote against it. It's also a world where the pm ostensibly loses control of the situation to parliament and then sees her despised deal inch closer to success as a result. Good luck to future historians trying to establish a coherent framework around this dogs dinner.

Is he reprehensible enough to improve Labour's chances the next general election or weaken them?

Latest dispatch from the brexit rabbit hole: after doing all she can to get her deal passed to stay in power, the pm now knows the only way she remains in her job is if it fails. As Malcolm Tucker would put it, we are truly through the looking glass now, folks.
