I'm being somewhat general there. All kinds of crazy new health foods emerged in the 70s as the supposed hippie way of life was appropriated by the food industry. And kitchen appliance design. Everything in the 70s was hippie earth tones: harvest gold, burnt orange, Hoy muffin brown, and … avocado green.
