DeSantis is beloved by the right wing freaks who actually watch stuff on policy, but the guy is as exciting as that one Republican who dragged his dog with his car or whatever it was. Just a dull, bigoted freak. Hard to say whether Trumpism without Trump's X factor "charisma" will play.
Exactly, it's impossible to say which is the lesser of the two evils you'd want to see run in 2024. I'd like to see Liz Cheney or Mitt Romney run, they seem somewhat reasonable.

It demonstrates the complete absence of commitment to the principles of democracy. There have always been knaves and pigs at the trough, but this is an open contempt never seen before.Sparky wrote: ↑12 Jul 2022, 6:43pmOh without a doubt, it's sickening the butt kissing the rest of the GOP bestows on Trump. I don't know exactly where to put this, but it feels be see there since this seems like where most of the j6 talk is going:
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

Re: The Trump observations thread
Around four years ago, there was a murder not far from my hometown. A white farmer killed an indigenous kid whom he claimed was there to steal from/kill his family (the survivors said they were looking for help when their car broke down). The trial was held in my hometown and the farmer got off on accident/self-defence and when folks here were talking about it, I said that people I went to high school could well have been jury members, and it was preordained that the guy would walk. Just knowing the people I grew up with, there was a zero percent chance that he'd be convicted. I fucking hate my hometown for those kinds of reasons, that it never fails to confirm my most jaundiced views of it.
