Speaking of Kennedys, I'm doing a JFK/Cuba lecture today. I feel obliged to wear a DKs shirt.
Nikita, marikita, lo que se da no se quita.
It was adorable to see how astonished students were as I declared JFK pretty damned mediocre, with few domestic accomplishments (apart from a corporate tax cut) and foreign policy successes built on earlier foreign policy fiascos. And that somehow this guy would have prevented all the disorder and catastrofucks of the rest of the decade had he lived? Never doubt the power of a media obsessed with style and nostalgia. Dying young and in spectacular fashion is definitely a good career move.

My DKs shirt was duly recognized and appreciated by the hipper kids, tho, so that worked.
900 days is a pretty decent time for anyone to imprint anything they want onto.

Cletus Joey Ginger III is pretty much Big Pharma's most bought-and-paid-for Congressthing, so the notion that he isn't another prefab corporatist piece of shit amuses me. But he got solid B+'s in Ivy League debate class when he bothered to show up and talks real purdy-like so people will dream, I guess.

Given that Uncle Bobby is a loopy anti-vaccer, those touch football games must get a bit rough.

EDIT: here's the actual story

I'm confused. I always read conservatives describe liberals as "far left." I just assumed that all Democrats were Leninists.

If JFK had been better about going to his left, LBJ never would have become president.

Hey Flex (or anyone else, but Flex is the likely bet here), do you know much about Beto O'Rourke?

I've read a few articles about how Texas dems are massively outperforming old baselines in fundraising and turnout, but not specifically familiar with Beto. I like that he seems to be aligned with the bolder wing of the party.

Given his past in punk circles, I want to believe he's one of the good ones. In spite of being involved in national politics, of course.

What a corrupt party. Good lord.
Would they be so awful if they didn't think that they could just count on an anti-Trump movement showing up and rewarding them? That is, is Trump so lousy it encourages Democrats to be contemptuous of voters?

Yes, but Clinton was such a lousy candidate/campaigner that she would have done the same stupid shit against Jeb or anyone else. Losing to Trump just magnified that.
