There's a politician in the Missouri legislature who wants to put the refugees in internment camps.

Internment camps.

Also, I posted this on Facebook yesterday and got 95% positive response, but then my crazy ultra orthodox cousin (mom's side) and my crazy Texan Fox news loving aunt (dad's side) decided to chime in and ruin my day:

"How quickly some forget. My nana came to this country by herself at age 16 as a refugee from Austria. Perhaps if the attitudes were different, she wouldn't have been orphaned as a teen. Perhaps my great grandparents wouldn't have been killed in Auschwitz.

I don't understand why people are having such a difficult time grasping the fact that the terrorists are the people the current refugees are running away FROM."

From Cousin: "How can you say this when authorities show that at least one of the terrorists came into Greece as a refugee?! Jews were refused because they were hated for being Jews. The concern about letting in the Syrian refugees is that there is no way to.properly vet them, and ISIS has shown it is imbedding it's terrorists with the refugees"

From Aunt: "Times are different now and terrorists are coming in the droves of refugees. Look at the photos, most are men, very few women and children"

And once they're there, why not have them work for the state for, say, ten years to prove they want to be there?

The past fifteen years have been constant, terrifying reminders that we're not that far past the totalitarian experience of the 1930s and 1940s, or of chattel slavery for that matter. And it's so damned common amongst those on the right, to spout such shit without fear of being shunned by their community. Banality of evil, indeed.

Your analysis is incorrect. Only foreigners or subscribers to foreign ideologies can be terrorists, not real Americans.
