Politics is in the mind. Politics is fear-response.

I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

That study seems more than a little dubious to me, if for no other reason than the validity of certain ideas (e.g., internationalism vs. isolationism; govt involvement in people's lives) migrates in and out of the various wings. A bit too simplistic to me.

It seems like straight up liberal propaganda.

I wonder how I'd score.

At best. There was a study maybe a year ago that claimed that people who were bullies as kids tend to become right wingers. Totally groundless nonsense.

I love how academics get funding for stating the bleedin' obvious...

Man fears it, Man kills it.....Must have took 'em ages to come to that conlcusion :meh:

Don't think I'm scared of anything other than the usual concerns over family members and friends well being, so what does that make me?.... Oh, right! They may be onto something ;)

It kind of makes sense along the lines that fear of death is a (the) main drive for human action including social contract. It also explains how stupidity, unjustified fear, lack of courage and blind faith relate to right wingedness.

What I want to know is this... Which university is willing to pay me and my team (address for team applications to follow as and when) a substantial amount of money to travel to... hmmmm let´s say Nebraska so we can interview FORTY SIX people about why some social backgrounds produce eggier farts than others?

I´ve allways thought I´m in the wrong job! They probably took two years for the research analysis on top! I just don´t want to know how much these SCIENTISTS get paid for this stuff
The root of all faults, all failings, is nothing other than ignorance. This ignorance is like mistaking a heap of stones on the horizon for a human figure; it has no basis whatsoever, which means that even the source of of these faults and failings does not exist.
